This circuit first crosses a vineyard, then passes along a lake before going into the forest of Verdus on winding and stony paths. The village of Masquières, close to the department of Lot, occupies a large part of this forest. In the valleys of Lartel and Las Gonies, archaeological discoveries testify to the prehistoric occupation of the place. Nearby, dug into a hill, the cobbler's cave sheltered Neolithic burials. In the forest are the remains of a covered alley called the "Tomb of the Giants" (prehistoric megalith).
