During the Industrial Heritage Days, the Fumel hydroelectric power station can be visited.
Eighty candles this year and still active; with a bright future ahead of it for its ability to provide us with this renewable energy that we so badly need.
Of the "over the water" type, it was built by Pont-à-Mousson, then owner of the Fumel metallurgical plant which had an increased need for energy for the manufacture of shells... We were then in 1942...
This visit will allow us to enter the plant for a panoramic view of the two Kaplan turbines, real collectors! They supply electricity to 7,000 homes.
